Identify controls by index & by image

Identify controls by index option shows or hides the Identify by Index window. If a selected control does not have a unique ID, you can select an index to be used upon test execution to identify the control.

1. To open the Identify by Index window in the Advanced View of Tosca XScan, click the Identify by button and select Index from the drop-down menu .

2. Enable the checkbox next to Index to select the index. The index is calculated dynamically and based on already selected identification criteria.

Identify controls by image - 

Tosca can identify controls from an image by creating a screenshot for a specific control.

1. Scan the required screen by using Tosca XScan.

2. In the Advanced View of Tosca XScan, click the Identify by button and select Image from the dropdown menu to open the Identify by Image window.

3. Select the control to be identified from a screenshot in the left pane.
